Costco shoppers buy big. With a five-buck rotisserie chicken as its flagship product, the members-only wholesale retail chain sells large products (from steaks to barns) in large quantities for low prices. But there's one area where loyal customers are prepared to think a little smaller: Costco's snacks.
Whether filling the cart for the family or picking up a treat to fuel the trip home, Costco customers love to snack. And with a smattering of exclusives among Costco's cut-price snack selection, choosing something to go is a careful curatorial ritual for many customers.
But which Costco snacks do paying members love the most? Following our report on the most popular Costco products in every state, CouponBirds analyzed 145,533 customer review ratings for all snacks on Costco.com to find the snacks with the highest percentage of five-star reviews.

Utah Truffles Dark Chocolate Truffles with Sea Salt are Costco's Most Loved Snack
It's no wonder Utah's Dark Chocolate Truffles with Sea Salt are the most loved snack at Costco: they straddle the line between "snack" and "unabashed treat." Some 91.99% of shoppers who've stopped to review their purchase have given Utah Truffles a five-star review, which is a better rate than any other Costco snack. Utah's products are made with non-artificial ingredients in Lindon, Utah. "Life is hard, we deserve good chocolate!" writes one reviewer.
We found ten products where more than 90% of the ratings are five stars. One of these doesn't fit the categories analyzed below: Kirkland Signature Sunsweet Whole Dried Plums have a 90.27% five-star rating. Prunes by any other name, Sunsweet Whole Dried Plums are high in fiber and make a great alternative sweetener to pancakes, oatmeal and other snacks — although their sugar content is not particularly low.
The Most Loved Costco Chocolates
Utah's Dark Chocolate Truffles are the most loved snack overall, as detailed above. The second most loved Costco snack — chocolate or any other category — is also a borderline luxury. Godiva Dark Chocolate Ganache Hearts (91.74%) are individually wrapped treats in the classic "coeur iconique" shape and filled with chocolate cream. This Belgian chocolate is made in the U.S. but to the same specifications as the original, unlike some other European chocolate brands.
Costco's own private-label Kirkland goods also excel among chocolate snacks. Nearly nine out of ten (89.19%) reviews for Kirkland Signature Milk Chocolate Almonds have five stars, and Kirkland Signature Milk Chocolate Raisins (88.10%) are also in the top ten chocolate snacks. Kirkland's chocolate almonds are also ethically sound, produced by the Blommer Chocolate Company, which works closely with local farmers and thousands of bean farmers in Ivory Coast. According to Mashed, Blommer sustainably processes 5% of the world's chocolate.
The Most Loved Costco Cookies
Lotus Biscoff Cookies are the most loved cookie snacks at Costco, with an 88.04% five-star rating score. Lotus Bakeries was established in Belgium in 1932, and today, the Lotus biscuit is the world-renowned sidekick to 'coffee shop coffee' — a clue as to why it is so popular among Costco shoppers, who include café stockists. The Lotus brand focuses on just four key products: the cookie, sandwich cookies, cookie butter and Biscoff ice cream, and this strategy seems to ensure they get it all right.
Meiji Hello Panda Chocolate Creme Filled Cookies are an altogether less "refined European" treat but clock in as Costco's fourth most loved cookie with a rating of 85.94%. In Meiji's own words, each "bite-size, crunchy cookie is filled with a soft, smooth chocolate crème so you can pop them in your mouth whole without worrying about any melty mess."
The Most Loved Costco Chips & Pretzels
The most loved chips or pretzel snacks at Costco are Cheetos Crunchy Original (86.00%). Cheetos can count on the nostalgia factor to save them a place in Costco customers' hearts — and in their carts. "While some familiar foods sometimes taste different through the years, Cheetos taste just as fun and satisfying as they did during my childhood," writes one reviewer. "The crunch hasn't changed, either!"
Costco's private label gets a look-in with Kirkland Signature Peanut Butter Filled Pretzel Nuggets (84.62%), securing third place in this category. "Addictive healthy snack!" writes 'Mrs Santa' in the reviews — perhaps optimistically. Another five-star reviewer gets more to the heart of it: "These little tidbits are very tasty and full of chunky peanut butter. They are salty and go well with a glass of beer. Be careful though...they are "one bites deserves at least five more!"
The Most Loved Costco Nuts & Seeds
Nuts and seeds are where Kirkland, Costco's private label brand, truly excels. Seven of the ten snacks in this category to have received the highest percentage of five-star reviews are sold under the Kirkland label. To add to the party, Costco Walnut Pieces — sold in 5 lb. bags — are the second highest-rated nut. "It's a whole lotta walnut pieces but you simply cannot beat the price *and* the walnuts are perfectly pieced and ready for baking & using as an "add-in" to other recipes," explains one reviewer. "…Also they are delicious by the handful for a quick snack."
Part of the reason Kirkland dominates in this category is that Costco usually only carries a couple of brand's versions of any particular item — stocking around 4,000 product varieties, compared to around 30,000 in most supermarkets. Nuts being more or less generic (as opposed to varieties of chocolate treats or cookies), the Kirkland brand faces less opposition. Still, Kirkland Signature Pecan Halves has a 90.73% five-star score, which is impressive regardless of the competition. And even tenth-placed Kirkland Signature Shelled Pistachios gets 88.58%.
The Most Loved Costco Snack Bars
G2G was "one of the very first refrigerated protein bar companies in the industry" when it opened its business in 2010. Today, G2G can count three products among Costco's ten most-loved snack bars. These include the number one, G2G Peanut Butter Coconut Chocolate Protein Bar, which more than nine out of ten (90.57%) reviewers reckon is worth five stars. "They are a little higher in Calories than I normally like for a protein bar, but they taste amazing!" reports one such reviewer. "They don't have an awful aftertaste and the texture isn't a chewing mess like most protein bars."
Nature Valley is also well represented, with the brand's Biscuits with Almond Butter (86.67%) and Peanut Sweet and Salty Granola Bar (84.81%) making the top ten snack bars. The whole-grain almond butter biscuits have a cinnamon flavor and no artificial colors or high-fructose corn syrup. "I always buy this 30-count box of biscuits because of the savings in price," writes one Costco bargain hunter. "And I buy them 6 boxes at a time because eat them daily."
Basket Busters
Walking around Costco, shoppers balance the alluring prices against the capacity of whatever vehicle is appointed to carry the goods home — because those shops can get bulky. Thanks to Costco's enthusiastic reviewers, it's possible to take one variable out of the tricky business of choosing products by seeing which snacks regular buyers reckon to be unmissable.
Methodology
